| Richter’s 2005 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese displays pungent, faintly bitter aromas of lime zest, juniper, and huckleberry. It is clear and vibrant on the palate with fresh lime and lightly bitter notes of black fruits. This is one of the brightest, most focused 2005s I tasted on the Mosel and a glance at the analysis confirms its relatively high (nine grams) acidity. A very treble finish incorporates a fine sense of slate. Wine Advocate #167 (Oct 2006) David Schildknecht 90 points |
