| The 2004 Timeless Palates Wines from Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 2 is 100% Chardonnay from a hillside planted exclusively for Bob Lindquist of Qupé Wine Cellars. This wine consists of juice that has been in barrel for the past 14 months. It is 25% new oak, 50% 1 year old, and 25% neutral. The wine has been given limited oak contact in order to allow the rich minerality of the hillside to show through. It is reminiscent of Meursault; toasty and rich but is neither overwhelmingly buttery nor oaky. The wine speaks of toast, crème brûlée, citrus, and green apples. |
