| 2003 Marston Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon | 750 ML | $79.97 | 90 Points! Robert Parker's Wine Advocate # 162 Dec 2005 Reviewer: Robert Parker. The 2003 is a huge, concentrated, inky/blue/purple-tinged Cabernet Sauvignon revealing a sweet nose of acacia flowers intermixed with blueberries, minerals, and underbrush. A rich attack is followed by hard tannins and a tough finish. Although this wine possesses outstanding potential, it is questionable whether it will all come together in a seamless display of fruit and structure.
This vineyard, which is farmed by Beringer, also produces wines under its moniker guided by well-known Napa Valley wine guru, Philippe Melka. Five hundred cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon are produced in a normal vintage, and Melka’s biggest challenge has been to tame the hard, tough tannins that routinely emerge.
